Ingredients :
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 2 tablespoons yeast
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions :
- Combine warm water and yeast in a bowl. Let stand until foamy.
- Add flour and salt to yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled.
- Shape dough and place on a baking sheet. Let rise again.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Let cool before slicing.
Optional :
- Add seeds or herbs to dough for flavor.
- Brush baked bread with melted butter for a softer crust.
