About Me

Hi, I’m Janet Miller!

Home cook · Old-fashioned recipe lover · Based in the kitchen

I didn’t grow up with cooking classes or fancy kitchen gadgets. I grew up watching my grandmother move around a small kitchen like she owned it — no measuring cups, no timers, just instinct built from decades of feeding people she loved. That’s where my love of food started, and honestly, it never really left.

These days I’m a home cook in my mid-forties, and the kitchen is still my favorite place to be. Not because everything goes perfectly — it doesn’t — but because there’s something deeply satisfying about taking a handful of simple ingredients and turning them into something that makes people happy. That’s all cooking ever really needs to be.

I started 4viralart.com because I kept noticing that the recipes I loved most — the ones that had been passed around church potlucks, scribbled on index cards, and made every Sunday for thirty years — were getting harder to find online. Everything was either too complicated, too trendy, or trying too hard. I just wanted a place where real, honest recipes lived.

So that’s what this is. No complicated techniques. No ingredients you’ve never heard of. Just food that works, written in plain language, the way someone who’s actually made it would explain it to you.

  • ·Old-fashioned comfort food: The recipes your grandma made and never wrote down — I’m writing them down.
  • ·No fluff, just cooking: Every recipe here has been made in a real kitchen, not a photo studio.
  • ·Plain language instructions: If I can make it on a Tuesday night after a long day, so can you.
  • ·A community of real home cooks: Over on Facebook and Pinterest, thousands of people just like you share what they made and how it turned out. Come join us.

If you found me through a recipe on Facebook or stumbled here from Pinterest — welcome. Pour yourself something warm, have a browse, and find something to make tonight. I’m glad you’re here.
