Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

INGREDIENTS
Steak Marinade:

  • 1 lb flank steak (thinly sliced)

  • 2 tbsp premium soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

Stir-Fry:

  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

  • 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced

  • red bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • green bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

  • ½ cup beef bone broth

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Jasmine rice for serving

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Marinate Steak: Combine soy saucecornstarchoil → coat flank steak → rest 15 mins.

  2. Stir-Fry Aromatics: Heat oil in carbon steel wok → sear steak → remove.
    Sauté onionbell peppersgarlicginger 3 mins.

  3. Make Sauce: Whisk brothsoy sauceoyster saucehoisinvinegar, sugar.

  4. Combine & Thicken: Return steak → pour sauce → simmer 2 mins.
    Add cornstarch slurry → stir until glossy.

  5. Finish & Serve: Toss with pepper flakes → serve over steamed rice.
