Ingredients :
- 1 bag (30 oz) shredded hash browns
- 5 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1 can cream chicken soup
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 tsp ground pepper
- 1 pkg. cream cheese, room temperature. (don’t use fat free, won’t melt)
Instrcutions :
- In 6 qt crockpot, combine everything EXCEPT cream cheese.
- Cook on low, 6-8 hours.
- About an hour before serving, put cream cheese in a bowl, add a couple ladles of the hot soup and mix well, before adding back to the soup. No lumps!
- Serve with cheese, sour cream, bacon bits, green onions, or whatever.
- But it’s delicious all by itself.
