Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 bag nacho cheese Doritos (9–10 oz), lightly crushed
  • 1 can refried beans (16 oz)
  • 1 jar salsa (16 oz)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream (optional)
  • Sliced green onions (for garnish)
  • Cooking spray or oil (for greasing baking dish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned; drain excess grease.
  • Add taco seasoning (follow packet instructions with 2/3 cup water) and simmer.
  • Spread refried beans in the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Layer half the crushed Doritos over the beans.
  • Top with seasoned beef, spreading it evenly.
  • Pour salsa over the beef.
  • Sprinkle the remaining crushed Doritos and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with green onions and sour cream if desired.

Notes

For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or chipotle salsa.
Can be served with additional toppings like avocado, lime, or cilantro.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
