Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak, cut into small bite-size pieces
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (halal-certified)
  • 3 tablespoons A1 steak sauce (2 tbsp for steak, 1 tbsp for dip plus drizzle)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Extra cheddar cheese, fried onions or crushed crackers for topping

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add steak pieces and season with 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp black pepper, and 1/2 tsp salt. Sear for 3–5 minutes.
  • Pour in 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce and 2 tbsp A1 steak sauce. Toss to coat, then remove steak and set aside.
  • In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 tbsp A1 steak sauce, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp smoked paprika, and 1/2 tsp black pepper.
  • In a separate small bowl, mix shredded cheddar, shredded Monterey Jack, and 1 tbsp A1 steak sauce.
  • Mix cheddar-blend into cream cheese mixture until smooth.
  • Fold in caramelized onions and green onions.
  • Transfer dip to a baking dish or serving bowl.
  • Top with fried onions or crushed crackers, extra cheddar, and a drizzle of A1 steak sauce.
  • Let dip rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For halal compliance, ensure Worcestershire sauce is restaurant-style anchovy-free. For extra richness, add 1/4 cup sour cream or aioli to the dip base.
