Ingredients

  • Seasoned Fries, 1 bag (use your favorite frozen seasoned fries for convenience)
  • Ground Beef, 1 pound (Halal ground beef preferred)
  • Taco Seasoning Packet, 1 packet (Choose mild or spicy per preference)
  • Fiesta Blend Shredded Cheese, 1 bag (Cheddar, Monterey Jack, and others for melting)
  • Sour Cream, 1 tub (Use full-fat for creamier texture, can substitute Greek yogurt)
  • Roma Tomatoes, 2 (Diced into small cubes)
  • Green Jalapeños, 2 (Thinly sliced for mild heat; remove seeds for less spice)
  • Green Scallions, 3 stalks (Finely chopped for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F
  • Bake seasoned fries according to package directions until golden-brown and crispy
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat
  • Add raw ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and crumbly
  • Sprinkle taco seasoning over the beef and cook as per the seasoning packet's instructions until the meat is richly flavored and most of the liquid has evaporated
  • Scoop the hot fries into a single layer in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Spoon the taco beef evenly over the fries
  • Sprinkle the Fiesta Blend Shredded Cheese evenly over the beef mixture
  • Return the dish to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly
  • Top the fries with a spoonful of sour cream, followed by diced roma tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, and chopped scallions
  • Serve immediately for a crisp cheese layer or let sit briefly for a gooier texture

Notes

For a vegetarian alternative, substitute ground beef with seasoned crumbled halal meat-free ground substitute.
Use a vegan cheese alternative if desired and omit the sour cream in favor of vegan sour cream.
Adjust the spiciness by using milder jalapeños or omitting the seeds and membranes.
For extra flavor, add a drizzle of salsa on top before serving.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Reheat the fries in the oven to maintain crispiness.
