Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 8 halal breakfast sausage links
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Maple syrup, for serving
  • Powdered sugar (optional), for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the sausage links: Follow package instructions to fully brown and heat the halal sausage links. Set aside.
  • Prepare the bread: Remove crusts and gently flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
  • Make the egg mixture: Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
  • Roll the bread with sausage: Place a cooked sausage link at one end of a bread slice and roll tightly.
  • Dip rolls in egg mixture: Submerge each roll in the egg-cinnamon mixture, coating fully.
  • Cook the rolls: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each roll 3-4 minutes, turning to brown all sides.
  • Serve warm: Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Use day-old bread for easier rolling.
Remove crusts to prevent cracking and ensure even coating.
