Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (ensure halal/vegetarian)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12 oz tortilla chips
  • 1 cup oil-based refried beans
  • 1½ cups nacho cheese sauce (no animal-based ingredients)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (halal-certified)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions

Instructions

  • Brown the beef in a skillet, breaking it apart until crumbled; drain excess grease.
  • Season the beef with taco seasoning and 1/2 cup water, simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Warm the refried beans and nacho cheese sauce separately in saucepans or microwave.
  • Spread tortilla chips on a large baking sheet; layer warm refried beans, then beef on top.
  • Drizzle the heated nacho cheese sauce over the beef and beans; sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5–7 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
