Ingredients

  • 3 cups assorted berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sweetened whipped cream or ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9”x6” baking dish
  • Pour berries into prepared dish with a 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt
  • In another bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture to form coarse crumbs
  • Spoon crumb topping over berries (leave open spaces)
  • Bake for 30 minutes until golden and bubbly
  • Let cool slightly before serving with whipped cream or ice cream

Notes

Use fresh seasonal berries if available
Topping can be made 30 minutes ahead
Store leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator
