Ingredients

  • 1 (28–32 oz) bag frozen French fries
  • 1 lb ground beef (halal if preferred)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 (15 oz) can chili beans, undrained
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 packet chili seasoning mix
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions, for garnish
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  • Arrange frozen fries in single layer on baking sheet
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until crispy
  • Heat skillet over medium-high heat; cook ground beef and onions 5–7 minutes until browned
  • Drain excess grease
  • Stir in chili beans, diced tomatoes, and chili seasoning; simmer 10 minutes
  • Lightly grease 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Spread 1/3 of baked fries in dish
  • Top with chili mixture and remaining fries
  • Sprinkle 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • Return to oven and bake 20 minutes until cheese is golden
  • Garnish with green onions before serving

Notes

Use halal beef if preferred
Frozen fries work best for even baking
Optional toppings: jalapeños or a dolloping of sour cream
Double cheese for extra melty texture
Let rest 5 minutes before slicing for cleaner presentation
