Ingredients

  • 6 cups broccoli florets, chopped small
  • 8 slices halal bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup red onion, finely diced
  • ½ cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the broccoli: Wash broccoli and chop into small pieces; set aside.
  • Cook the bacon: Cook halal bacon in a skillet until crisp; crumble.
  • Combine the solids: Add crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese, red onion, and sunflower seeds to broccoli.
  • Make the dressing: Whisk together mayo, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  • Toss the salad: Pour dressing over the mixture and toss thoroughly.
  • Chill and serve: Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Use fresh broccoli for crunch. Cook bacon until crispy. Dice onion finely to mellow its sharpness. Chill thoroughly for best flavor melding.
