  • 1 lb ground beef (halal or preferred lean beef)
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 (9-12 oz) bag frozen spinach & cheese ravioli
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking up into crumbles. Drain excess grease and return meat to the skillet.
  • Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Layer one-third of the frozen ravioli, one-third of the meat sauce, and 1 cup mozzarella. Repeat layers two more times, finishing with a top layer of mozzarella.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 35-40 minutes. Remove foil and broil for 3-4 minutes until golden.

Notes

Frozen ravioli do not need to be thawed before use.
For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with cooked lentils or crumbled tofu.
