Ingredients

  • 1 box (18.3 oz) fudge brownie mix, baked and cooled
  • 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 16 oz whipped topping, thawed
  • 36 mini peanut butter cups, halved

Instructions

  • Prepare the brownies: Bake the fudge brownie mix according to the package directions in a 9×13-inch pan. Once baked, allow the brownies to cool completely. Cut the cooled brownies into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
  • Make the peanut butter pudding: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the two boxes of instant vanilla pudding mix, cold whole milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  • Add peanut butter: Stir in the creamy peanut butter until the pudding mixture is smooth and creamy without lumps.
  • Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold 1½ cups of the thawed whipped topping into the peanut butter pudding mixture, creating a light, airy texture.
  • Assemble the trifle layers: In a large trifle dish, layer half of the brownie cubes evenly on the bottom.
  • Add candy layer: Sprinkle ⅓ of the halved mini peanut butter cups over the brownies.
  • Spread pudding layer: Spoon half of the peanut butter pudding mixture over the candy and brownies, spreading evenly.
  • Add whipped topping layer: Top the pudding with half of the remaining whipped topping.
  • Repeat layers: Add the remaining brownie cubes, ⅓ of the halved mini peanut butter cups, remaining pudding, and remaining whipped topping.
  • Top the trifle: Garnish with the remaining halved peanut butter cups and chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

Chill the trifle for 3–4 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
For non-dairy options, use plant-based brownie mix, milk, and non-dairy whipped topping.
