Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2-3 tbsp onion powder
  • 2-3 tbsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of seasoned salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup chopped white onion
  • 1 envelope beefy onion soup mix
  • 3 tbsp beef bouillon (halal-certified if needed)
  • 3 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 bag boil-in-bag white rice
  • 2 1/4 cups water

Instructions

  • Season the beef: In a medium bowl, combine ground beef with onion powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  • Cook beef and onions: Add beef and onion to a skillet over medium heat. Cook 7-8 minutes, breaking apart beef until onions are translucent and beef is browned.
  • Drain excess fat: Carefully drain fat from skillet, leaving enough for flavor.
  • Add seasoning and liquids: Stir in beefy onion soup mix, beef bouillon, and soy sauce until blended.
  • Add rice and water: Unfold boil-in-bag rice, add to skillet, then pour in 2 1/4 cups water. Stir gently.
  • Simmer to finish: Cover and simmer 10 minutes over low heat until rice is tender.
  • Serve and enjoy: Fluff rice with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

Use halal-certified beef bouillon if required.
Substitute ground beef with plant-based crumbles for a vegetarian version.
Check water level during simmering—the rice may require additional liquid if boiling excessively.
