  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon non-alcoholic sweet chili glaze (alternate for hot honey)
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed spicy chips (e.g., Takis or BBQ tortilla chips)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ranch seasoning (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley or green onions (optional)

Instructions

  • Mix the cheese base: In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, cheddar, pepper jack, jalapeños, green onions, 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, sweet chili glaze, and lime juice.
  • Blend well: Stir until fully homogenized.
  • Chill the mixture: Refrigerate for 30-45 minutes.
  • Form cheese balls: Shape into 20 bite-sized balls.
  • Coat with chips: Press each ball into the crushed chips, then into a mix of remaining ranch seasoning and parsley/green onions.
  • Chill again: Refrigerate cheese balls for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For milder heat, remove jalapeño seeds.
Use a small paper towel to press spices/chips firmly onto the balls.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
Substitute crushed chips with crushed pretzels or tortilla pockets for texture variation.
