Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef (halal)
  • 1 package taco seasoning (halal-compliant)
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Guacamole (optional, for serving)
  • Salsa (optional, for serving)
  • Shredded lettuce (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat 1 teaspoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, cook, and break it into small pieces.
  • Sprinkle taco seasoning over the beef and add water as directed on the package. Simmer until liquid reduces.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Arrange crescent rolls on an ungreased baking sheet in a ring shape (6-inch center hole). Fold edges to connect the triangles.
  • Spoon seasoned beef onto the wide end of each crescent triangle, closest to the center. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the beef.
  • Fold the outer ends of the crescent triangles toward the center and press to seal. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with guacamole, salsa, and shredded lettuce as garnishes.

Notes

Ensure taco seasoning is halal-compliant if avoiding pork products.
Swap ground beef with seasoned turkey or plant-based alternatives for dietary preferences.
Crack an egg into the center before baking for a decadent twist.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
