Ingredients

  • Cheese tortellini, 12 ounces
  • Olive oil, 1 tablespoon
  • Large onion, 1, thinly sliced
  • Beef steak (halal-certified), 1 pound, cubed
  • Salt, 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon
  • Beef broth (low sodium), 1 cup
  • Worcestershire sauce (halal/vegetarian), 2 tablespoons
  • Shredded provolone cheese, 1 cup

Instructions

  • Cook tortellini according to package instructions, drain, and set aside
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; cook onions 5-7 minutes until caramelized
  • Add cubed steak, salt, and pepper to the skillet; cook 5-7 minutes until browned
  • Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; simmer 10 minutes until sauce thickens
  • Stir in cooked tortellini and shredded provolone; mix until cheese is melted and sauce coats the dish

Notes

Use fresh or store-bought tortellini; spinach tortellini is a flavorful alternative
Mozzarella can substitute for provolone if preferred
For deeper flavor, let broth cool and skim fat before use
