Ingredients:
Crust:
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- Custard:
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 5 large egg yolks
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Topping:
- Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions:
- Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press into a lined 9×9-inch pan. Chill.
- Heat milk, cream, and half the sugar in a saucepan until hot but not boiling.
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, remaining sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Slowly add hot milk mixture to yolks, whisking constantly. Return to saucepan and cook until thick.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Pour over crust, smooth top, and chill until set.
- Top with whipped cream if desired, cut into squares, and serve.
