Ultimate Double Cheeseburger Pizza Stack

Ingredients:

For the Beef Patties

  • 4 lbs ground beef
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for firmer patties)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

For the Stack

  • 12–16 slices cheddar cheese (or American cheese)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup pizza sauce or thick marinara
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup dill pickle slices
  • 8–10 slices cooked beef bacon or turkey bacon (optional)

Optional Toppings

  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Cooked mushrooms
  • Jalapeño slices

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs (if using), salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Form and Cook Patties
Divide the mixture into large patties (about 8 thick patties). Cook in a skillet over medium heat or grill until browned on both sides and mostly cooked through. Set aside.
  3. Assemble the Stack
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of pizza sauce. Place one beef patty on top, add a slice of cheddar cheese, some onions, pickles, and bacon. Add another patty on top to form a “double cheeseburger” layer.
  4. Repeat Layers
Continue stacking patties and toppings until all patties are used. Spoon remaining pizza sauce over the top and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
  5. Bake
Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Rest and Serve
Let the stack rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with fries, potato wedges, or a simple green salad.
  • Add a drizzle of burger sauce, ketchup, or mustard before serving for extra flavor.

Variations

  • Spicy Version: Add jalapeños and pepper jack cheese.
  • BBQ Style: Swap pizza sauce for BBQ sauce and use smoked cheddar.
  • Low-Carb: Skip breadcrumbs and serve with roasted vegetables instead of fries.

This hearty, layered dish delivers all the flavor of a double cheeseburger with the cheesy, baked comfort of pizza perfect for feeding a hungry crowd.
