Thanksgiving Soft Dinner Rolls

Ingredients
• 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
• 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
• 1 packet active dry yeast (2¼ teaspoons)
• 3 cups all-purpose flour (approx.)
• 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until just lukewarm. Stir in the sugar and yeast, then let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Add the salt, butter, egg, and about 2½ cups of the flour. Mix until a soft dough forms. Add more flour only if needed.

  3. Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.

  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12–15 balls. Arrange them in a greased baking dish.

  6. Cover and let rise for 30–40 minutes.

  7. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown.
