Ingredients:
- 1 (9-inch) all-butter pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup (67 g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (150 g) packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Optional:
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp edges if desired.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
- Stir in baking soda and salt.
- Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the top is golden and the center is just set.
- Let cool for 15–20 minutes before slicing.
