Ingredients:
- 2 packages (14 oz each) lil smokies sausages
- ¾ cup thick, dark BBQ sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup pepperoncini juice
- ½ cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Optional: crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Add lil smokies to a slow cooker or heavy saucepan, spreading evenly.
- In a bowl, whisk BBQ sauce, brown sugar, pepperoncini juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until smooth.
- Pour the glaze over the sausages and stir to coat.
- Add sliced pepperoncini peppers and dot with butter.
- Cook on LOW for 2½–3 hours, stirring every 30–40 minutes, until the sauce thickens and clings to the sausages.
- For extra gloss, uncover for the last 20 minutes if needed. Serve hot.
