  • ¾ cup thick, dark BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup pepperoncini juice
  • ½ cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. Add lil smokies to a slow cooker or heavy saucepan, spreading evenly.
  2. In a bowl, whisk BBQ sauce, brown sugar, pepperoncini juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until smooth.
  3. Pour the glaze over the sausages and stir to coat.
  4. Add sliced pepperoncini peppers and dot with butter.
  5. Cook on LOW for 2½–3 hours, stirring every 30–40 minutes, until the sauce thickens and clings to the sausages.
