Directions:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a large bowl, blend softened butter with granulated sugar until creamy. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Stir in salt, flour, and chopped nuts until the dough comes together.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls (or slightly flatten for cookie-style rounds) and place on an ungreased baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
- While cookies are still warm, gently roll them in confectioners’ sugar.
- Allow cookies to cool completely, then roll again in confectioners’ sugar for a snowy finish.
