Sizzling Garlic Chicken Stir-Fry with Peppers and Steamed Rice

Ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
  • 1 cup steamed jasmine rice
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Heat the sesame oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken and stir-fry for 5 to 6 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the sliced bell peppers and stir-fry for 3 to 4 minutes, keeping them tender-crisp.
  3. Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and chili flakes if using. Pour in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  4. Serve the chicken stir-fry over steamed jasmine rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
