Saltine Cracker Candy (Christmas Crack)

Ingredients:

  • 40 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 pan with parchment and spray lightly.
  2. Arrange 40 saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt 1 cup butter and 1 cup brown sugar. Bring to a full bubble across the surface, then boil 3 minutes without stirring.
  4. Immediately pour the hot toffee over the crackers and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes, until the caramel bubbles.
  6. Remove from oven, rest 1–2 minutes, then sprinkle 2 cups chocolate chips over the top.
  7. Return to the warm, turned-off oven for 1 minute to melt the chocolate.
  8. Spread into a smooth layer. Cool 20 minutes, then refrigerate 3–4 hours until firm.
  9. Lift using parchment and cut or break into pieces. Enjoy!
