Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 32 oz (900 g) marinara sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt (optional, to taste)
- 24 oz (680 g) ravioli (frozen or refrigerated)
- 15 oz (425 g) whole milk ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup (43 g) shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups (240 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in Italian seasoning, black pepper, and marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes. Taste and add salt if needed. Remove from heat.
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread 1/3 of the meat sauce. Add half of the ravioli and half of the ricotta cheese.
- Repeat with another 1/3 of the sauce, remaining ravioli, and remaining ricotta.
- Top with the remaining meat sauce, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes.
- Optional: broil for 1–2 minutes for a golden, bubbly top.
- Let rest briefly, garnish with fresh basil or parsley, and serve warm.
