Ravioli Lasagna

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 32 oz (900 g) marinara sauce
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional, to taste)
  • 24 oz (680 g) ravioli (frozen or refrigerated)
  • 15 oz (425 g) whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup (43 g) shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups (240 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in Italian seasoning, black pepper, and marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes. Taste and add salt if needed. Remove from heat.
  4. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread 1/3 of the meat sauce. Add half of the ravioli and half of the ricotta cheese.
  5. Repeat with another 1/3 of the sauce, remaining ravioli, and remaining ricotta.
  6. Top with the remaining meat sauce, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  8. Optional: broil for 1–2 minutes for a golden, bubbly top.
  9. Let rest briefly, garnish with fresh basil or parsley, and serve warm.
