Ingredients:
- 8 slices sandwich bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (low-moisture recommended)
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce (optional)
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
- Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place four slices of bread butter-side down on a clean surface.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each slice, if using.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the bread.
- Add pepperoni and, if desired, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.
