Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or shaved steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 8 oz (225 g) white mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (120 ml) beef broth
  • 1 cup (115 g) shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup (115 g) shredded provolone
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and brown the beef. Drain fat if needed.
  3. Add onion, both bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté 5–6 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
  4. Stir in salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in cream cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Transfer everything to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with mozzarella, provolone, and oregano.
  7. Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, until bubbly and melted.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve hot with bread, rice, or salad.
