Ingredients :
- 1 tablespoon organic dried oregano
- ½ cup olive oil (extra virgin)
- Optional: a few drops of vitamin E oil (for added skin benefits)
Method :
- Prepare the herb: Crush the dried oregano leaves lightly using a mortar and pestle to release their natural oils.
- Infuse the oil: Place the crushed oregano into a clean glass jar and pour the olive oil over it. Stir well to ensure all the herbs are covered.
- Warm gently: Place the sealed jar in a warm area (like a sunny windowsill) for about 1 to 2 weeks. Shake the jar once a day to help with infusion.
- Strain: After the infusion period, strain the oil using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove all herb particles.
- Store: Transfer the finished oregano oil into a dark glass bottle and store it in a cool, dry place. It can last up to six months.
How to Use
- Internally: Take 1 teaspoon daily (only if using food-grade oregano oil) to help support immune function.
- Topically: Dilute 1 part oregano oil with 4 parts carrier oil and apply to affected areas to fight infections or skin irritation.
- Aromatherapy: Add a few drops to a diffuser to purify the air and support respiratory health.
Safety Note
Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement regimen—especially one as potent as oregano oil. Avoid direct ingestion of concentrated essential oil, and always dilute before applying to the skin.
