Ingredients:
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) vanilla cake mix
- 12 ounces orange soda
- 1 teaspoon pure orange extract
- 24 ounces whipped white frosting (two 12-ounce containers)
- 2 to 3 drops orange gel food coloring
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or two 8-inch round pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, orange soda, and orange extract. Mix until smooth and well blended.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake according to cake mix package directions, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and allow the cake to cool completely.
- Tint the whipped frosting with orange gel food coloring, if desired.
- Frost the cooled cake evenly. Slice and serve.
