Ingredients:
- 2 large apples, peeled and cut into 8 wedges each
- 1 can crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 cup Mountain Dew
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease an 8×8 or 9×13 baking dish.
- Wrap each apple wedge inside a crescent roll and place them in the baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour the melted butter over the dumplings, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on top.
- Slowly pour the Mountain Dew around the edges and over the dumplings, avoiding washing off the sugar directly.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
- Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
Notes:
- Any citrus soda can be used, but Mountain Dew gives the best flavor.
- For softer apples, slice them thinner.
- Best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
