Ingredients:
- Waffle Donut Batter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/2 Tbsp oil
- 1 1/2 cups shredded apples
- Glaze
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3–4 Tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Cinnamon sugar (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the waffle iron.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch. Add egg, milk, and oil; mix until combined. Gently fold in shredded apples.
- Spray the waffle iron with nonstick spray. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto the iron and cook 3–5 minutes, until golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Dip each waffle donut into the glaze, let excess drip off, and optionally sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Allow glaze to set before serving.
