Irresistible Cream and Berry-Filled Pastry Balls

Ingredients:

For the Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sprinkling)

For the Cream Filling

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Berry Filling

  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Berry sauce or jam, for drizzling

Instructions!

1. Prepare the Cream Filling

In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Transfer the whipped cream to a piping bag and refrigerate until ready to use.

2. Prepare the Berries

In a small bowl, combine the berries, sugar, and lemon juice. Let sit for 5–10 minutes to macerate, allowing the berries to soften and release their natural juices.

3. Prepare the Puff Pastry

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into 4–5 inch squares.

4. Assemble the Pastry Balls

Place a spoonful of berries in the center of each pastry square. Top with a dollop of whipped cream. Fold the corners up and over the filling to form a sealed ball or pouch. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle lightly with sugar.

5. Bake

Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.

6. Serve

Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with berry sauce if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
