Ingredients :
- 2 cups ketchup
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for depth)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- A dash of hot sauce (optional, for heat)
Instructions :
- Combine ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine.
- Add seasonings: Stir in the smoked paprika (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. If you like a bit of heat, add a few dashes of hot sauce to taste.
- Simmer: Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cooks.
- Taste and adjust: Taste your sauce and adjust seasoning if needed—more vinegar for tang, more sugar or honey for sweetness, or more spice for kick.
- Cool and store: Remove from heat and let the sauce cool. Transfer to a clean glass jar or airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Serving ideas: Brush it on ribs, chicken, burgers, or use it as a dipping sauce for fries and nuggets—it’s incredibly versatile!
