Hillbilly Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 (12 oz) can fruit pie filling (cherry, apple, peach, or your favorite)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Mix flour, sugar, and milk together until smooth.
  4. Pour batter over melted butter don’t stir.
  5. Spoon pie filling evenly on top. The batter will rise around the fruit as it bakes.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until golden brown and set.

Delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
