Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
• 1/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1 large egg
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop the dough into balls (about 2 tablespoons each) and place on the baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.
  8. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5–10 minutes before transferring to a rack.

Tips:

• For extra gooey cookies, slightly underbake them.
• Add a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking for a bakery-style look.
• Chill the dough for 30 minutes if you want thicker cookies.
