Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
• 1/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1 large egg
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop the dough into balls (about 2 tablespoons each) and place on the baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5–10 minutes before transferring to a rack.
Tips:
• For extra gooey cookies, slightly underbake them.
• Add a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking for a bakery-style look.
• Chill the dough for 30 minutes if you want thicker cookies.
