- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the crushed pineapple evenly in the prepared pan, including the juice.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the pineapple. Do not stir.
- Slowly drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much surface as possible.
- Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and add chopped nuts if using.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is deeply golden and the edges are bubbling.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
