Ginger Molasses Christmas Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cloves

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and molasses until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are slightly crisp and the centers are soft.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
