Fried Chicken with Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients :

For the Fried Chicken:

  • 6 bone-in chicken pieces (drumsticks or thighs)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions for Fried Chicken:

  1. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
    Pour buttermilk into a separate shallow dish.
  2. Dip each chicken piece into buttermilk, then coat in flour mixture.
  3. Heat 1/2-inch vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through.

For the Creamy Mashed Potatoes:

  1. 3-4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
  2. 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  3. 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
    Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions for Creamy Mashed Potatoes:

  1. Boil chopped potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender.
    Drain potatoes and return to pot.
  2. Add butter, heavy cream, salt, and pepper, and mash with a potato masher or fork.
