Ingredients:
- Scones
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon ground allspice
- 5 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
- ½ cup mashed banana
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- Glaze
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and allspice.
- Cut in the cold butter using a fork or pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, combine mashed banana and peanut butter until smooth.
- Fold the banana mixture into the dry ingredients just until the dough comes together.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently press into an 8-inch round.
- Cut into 8 wedges and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until lightly golden on top.
- Transfer to a wire rack and let cool for 10 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and peanut butter until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over warm scones and serve.
