Easy Hamburger Rice Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can beef consommé
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, sliced into pats
  • 2 tbsp chopped chives (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until no longer pink (8–10 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Spread cooked beef evenly in the baking dish. Sprinkle uncooked rice over the top.
  4. Pour French onion soup and beef consommé over the mixture. Stir gently to distribute evenly.
  5. Dot the top with butter pats.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake another 30 minutes, until rice is tender and top is golden.
  8. Let rest 5–10 minutes. Garnish with chives if desired and serve.
