Crispy Fried Chicken Tenders

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 3–4 breasts)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. Slice the chicken breasts into tenders.
  2. Place the chicken in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight for more tenderness).
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until hot.
  5. Remove chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour, pressing to coat well.
  6. Fry the tenders in batches for 4–6 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through.
  7. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate to drain.
  8. Serve hot.
