Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries

Ingredients:

  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
    Spray cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Coating: In a large resealable bag, combine the flour, powdered sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  2. Seal and shake well until evenly mixed.
  3. Prepare the Apples: Peel the apples and slice them into ½-inch wedges, discarding the core. Cut the wedges into fry-like strips.
  4. Coat the Apples: Place the apple strips into the bag of dry mixture. Seal the bag and shake until all pieces are well coated.
    Air Fry: Arrange the coated apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  5. Lightly spritz with cooking oil.
    Cook: Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and cook for 5 minutes. Open the air fryer, flip the apple fries, and spritz with more oil if needed. Continue cooking for another 5 minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crisp.
  6. Serve: Carefully remove the apple fries and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!

Tips:
For a richer flavor, try using apple pie spice instead of the individual spices.
To keep the apple fries warm and crispy, place them in a preheated oven at a low temperature while finishing other batches.
