Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Combine flour and salt; gradually add to the batter.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cake cool completely.
- Whip heavy cream and spread over the cake.
- Sprinkle a thin layer of sugar on top and caramelize with a kitchen torch.
