Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • For the Glaze (optional):
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk or cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9-inch springform pan.
    Beat the Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until fully combined.
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  7. Be cautious not to overmix.
  8. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool: Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before removing the sides of the pan.
  10. Make the Glaze (optional): In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk or cream until smooth.
  11. Glaze the Cake (optional): Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
