Condensed Milk Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 125 g self-rising flour (1 cup)
  • 115 g salted butter, softened (1/2 cup)
  • 75 g sweetened condensed milk (1/3 cup)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk using a hand mixer until pale, light, and creamy.
  3. Sift in the self-rising flour and gently mix with a spatula until a soft dough forms.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dough for 10–15 minutes to firm up.
  5. Roll the dough into walnut-sized balls and place them on baking trays lined with non-stick baking paper.
  6. Gently flatten each cookie using a fork.
  7. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overmix after adding the flour to keep the cookies tender.
  • Chilling the dough makes shaping easier and helps prevent spreading.
  • Bake just until lightly golden for soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookies.
