Ingredients:
- 125 g self-rising flour (1 cup)
- 115 g salted butter, softened (1/2 cup)
- 75 g sweetened condensed milk (1/3 cup)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk using a hand mixer until pale, light, and creamy.
- Sift in the self-rising flour and gently mix with a spatula until a soft dough forms.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dough for 10–15 minutes to firm up.
- Roll the dough into walnut-sized balls and place them on baking trays lined with non-stick baking paper.
- Gently flatten each cookie using a fork.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Do not overmix after adding the flour to keep the cookies tender.
- Chilling the dough makes shaping easier and helps prevent spreading.
- Bake just until lightly golden for soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookies.
