Classic Christmas Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup water
  • 12 oz fresh cranberries, rinsed
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • Small pinch of salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 strip orange peel

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, orange juice, and water over medium heat; stir until sugar begins to dissolve.
  2. Add cranberries, salt, cinnamon stick, and orange peel. Stir gently.
  3. Bring to a simmer and cook about 10 minutes, until most cranberries burst.
  4. Cool for 30 minutes, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
