Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup milk
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- Frosting Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- ⅓ cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round pan.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until smooth.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, then cool completely.
- Beat frosting ingredients until light and creamy.
