Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- Green icing or royal icing (for decorating)
- Assorted Christmas sprinkles
- Star sprinkles or small candy stars
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and powdered sugar until light and smooth. Mix in vanilla and salt.
- Gradually add flour and mix just until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough out to about ¼-inch thickness. Cut into long rectangles.
- Place cookies on prepared baking sheets and bake 10–12 minutes, just until set and lightly golden on the edges. Cool completely.
- Pipe green icing in a zigzag pattern to form Christmas trees. Decorate with sprinkles and add a star on top. Allow icing to set before serving.
